What we move, and what is included
Seven kinds of move. Each quoted after a survey, and each one telling you what it covers before you book rather than after.
- 01
Long-distance and nationwide
Essex to anywhere in mainland Britain. The M25, A12, A120 and A13 all meet here, which makes this county an unusually easy place to move out of.
- Direct loads where your goods travel alone and arrive without a transfer
- Shared loads where a flexible date is worth more to you than a fixed one
- Overnight secure parking on the longer routes north and west
- One crew from load to delivery wherever the route allows it
- Delivery windows agreed in advance and kept in contact on the day
- 02
House and home removals
Whole-home moves across Essex, surveyed before they are quoted so the crew, the vehicle and the day all match the job.
- A survey of both addresses — in person or by video
- Dismantling and reassembly of beds, wardrobes and flat-pack furniture
- Floor, door-frame and banister protection at both ends
- Loft, garage, shed and garden counted properly at the survey
- Goods in transit and liability cover explained before you book
- 03
Large and detached homes
The Epping Forest belt and the north Essex villages produce moves at a scale that catches out a standard quote. These are priced on what is actually there.
- Volume counted across every floor, plus cellar, loft and outbuildings
- A crew and vehicle plan sized to the real job, not a bedroom count
- Protection for original joinery, stone thresholds and listed fabric
- Private-road and gated access arranged before the day
- Phased moves where everything will not fit in one load
- 04
Flats and apartments
Lifts, loading bays, shared entrances and what the managing agent insists on — the parts of a flat move that decide how long it takes.
- Access checked with the building manager or letting agent beforehand
- Lift bookings and loading windows arranged where required
- Communal-area protection, which most buildings insist on
- Stair-carry planning where there is no lift, including crew size
- Inventory-aware packing for rented flats and check-out conditions
- 05
Man and van
Smaller jobs done to the same standard — single rooms, part loads and collections, properly blanketed and strapped.
- One or two crew with a van sized to the actual load
- Blankets, straps and proper securing, not a bare load bed
- Single-item and part-load collections across the county
- Help with loading and unloading, not just driving
- Honest sizing at the quote so the van does not arrive too small
- 06
Downsizing and clearance
Common on the coast, where a move often means deciding what is not going. We handle the part that stays behind as well as the part that travels.
- A plan agreed for what moves, what is sold or given away, and what goes
- Storage for anything you are not ready to decide about yet
- Responsible disposal and charity collection where you want it
- Unhurried working, because these moves are rarely just logistics
- Careful handling of the things that matter most in a smaller home
- 07
Packing and storage
Full or part packing with proper materials, and clean dry storage for the gap between moving out and moving in.
- Full packing, or just the fragile items if you would rather do the rest
- Purpose-made cartons — wardrobe, picture, china and book boxes
- Room-by-room labelling matched to a plan for the new address
- Containerised storage, sealed and inventoried
- Unpacking and removal of all the empty cartons afterwards
A note on European moves
We arrange moves from Essex into Europe, and we will handle yours. What we will not do is publish a third set of country pages for France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, because two other sites in this network already cover those routes in route-pair depth from an Essex origin. If a European move is what you need, get in touch and we will either run it or hand you to whichever of them fits your route best.
Next step
Not sure which one you need?
Most moves are several at once — a survey, some packing, the removal itself, and occasionally storage in the middle. Tell us what you are facing and we will tell you what it needs.
